Cagayan, a prospective state in northeastern Luzon covering the expansive valley between the Cordillera and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges. The Cagayan River, the country's longest and largest, runs through the center, flowing out into the Luzon Strait, where lies the Babuyan and Batanes islands, also belonging to the state.
